… or a selection of my works

In my ceramic work I like to switch between contradictory positions. Spontaneity on one hand – when nonchalance of shaping is followed by waywardness of primitive raku or smoke fire. Precision on the other – when the shapes I make follow strictly defined lines, which recall a minimal form of a human and bring about an apparent movement, seemingly overcoming the statical character of a dead object. Sometimes the objects are arranged in pairs or groups, and seem to be in a dialogue with each other. I give them monochrome or quasi-monochrome surfaces, to match the rigour of their shapes. Sometimes I make the two contradictions meet in one work, with quite intriguing effects.
